

The Elite Corps de Ballet of Long Island - a non-for-profit ballet company that was established by Artistic Director, Susan Nachtrab, in the Summer of 2008, in hopes of creating strong connections with local dance schools and students through the presentation of an annual ballet performance of “The Nutcracker”. It has been in recent years the Mrs. Nachtrab has felt a longing to branch out to the community and to other local dance schools in order to form a bond, whereas dance students from the local community, regardless of their primary source of dance instruction, may be able to grow as young artists, performers and students while gaining a sense of incomparable professionalism.
Dear Members of The Elite Corps de Ballet of Long Island:
We hope that you all had a very Merry Christmas! We are excited to announce that we received final confirmation from the theater that we will be allowed to host a small audience during our “Nutcracker Suite” experience. This is fantastic news and a rare return to normalcy during this difficult year! There will be strict rules enforced so that we may be able to host a small gathering. There will be two showings of our Nutcracker Suite on January 3, 2021 at 2:00pm and again at 4:30pm. We will be selling passes to the Nutcracker Suite for $25 – limiting 2 passes per performer & not allowing more than 25 “audience members” at each showing. Passes will go on sale Monday, December 29th at 2:00pm at Dance Sensation Dance Academy and will be first come/ first serve as seating will be assigned and distanced according to theater guidelines. Passes to be sold on Monday & Tuesday (please see schedule for times), passes may be purchased in cash or by check made out to “The Elite Corps de Ballet of Long Island”. We may open more passes to be purchased by performers if we do not reach the capacity for each showing.
PASSES WILL NOT BE SOLD AT THE THEATER AND NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO ENTER THE THEATER WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION FROM THE ELITE CORPS DE BALLET OF LONG ISLAND.
All audience members must have their temperature checked upon entering the theater, must wear a face covering AT ALL TIMES and will be asked to leave the theater as soon as the performance experience is finished ( no one may wait in the lobby/ common theater space before or after the showings). We ask that you please be patient with all volunteers and ECB members who will be navigating this new “performance experience” together.
ABSOLUTELY NO EATING OR DRINKING WILL BE ALLOWED AT ANY TIME IN THE THEATER. NO VIEDO RECORDING WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THE DURATION OF THE PERFORMANCE. THE ELITE CORPS DE BALLET OF LONG ISLAND IS UNDER STRICT GUIDELINES BY ASCAP (The American Society of Conductors, Authors & Publishers) FOR WHICH OUR MUSIC & CHOREOGRAPHY IS COPYWRITED. ONLY THE ELITE CORPS DE BALLET MAY ARCHIVE AND DISTRUBE RECORDINGS, UNDER PENALTY OF LAW.
Below is the schedule for the remainder of In-Studio rehearsals and our Theater schedule. All dancers should have their shoes, tights, camisoles, trouser socks &hair assignments at this time. Many younger students will be borrowing shoes – please make sure with ECB members that they have been fit if borrowing shoes (we will do our best to double check). If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us!
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO BE ON TIME FOR ALL REHEARSALS ESPECIALLY THOSE AT THE THEATER IN OAKDALE!
Wednesday’s rehearsals will be called “as needed”.
We ask that all families make sure that performers are well fed before coming to the theater or plan to eat afterwards, especially on Saturday, January 2nd, during the stage rehearsal. Performers should plan to bring a clean/ neat snack that they may enjoy in between performances on January 3rd. ONLY WATER AS A BEVERAGE.
