Artistic Director: Susan Nachtrab

The Elite Corps de Ballet of Long Island - a non-for-profit ballet company that  was established by Artistic Director, Susan Nachtrab, in the Summer of 2008, in hopes of creating strong connections with local dance schools and students through the presentation of an annual ballet performance of “The Nutcracker”.  It has been in recent years the Mrs. Nachtrab has felt a longing to branch out to the community and to other local dance schools in order to form a bond, whereas dance students from the local community, regardless of their primary source of dance instruction, may be able to grow as young artists, performers and students while gaining a sense of incomparable professionalism.

ECB MEMBERS:

We hope you all have a joyous holiday, and we are excited to begin the final rehearsals for our performance! We are working closely with the theater to ensure a fun and safe performance for all cast members/ audience members. At this time all members should have turned in their necessary membership donations or fundraising materials. Tickets to The Nutcracker are now $30.00. It is important to that all performers make sure they have either purchased the appropriate tights, camisoles, and shoes. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

ALL FUNDRAISING MONEY IS PAST DUE!

STUDIO/ STAGE REHEARSAL: ALL PERFORMERS MUST, MUST, MUST WEAR APPROPRIATE DANCE CLOTHES AND HAVE THEIR HAIR TIED UP FOR THESE REHEARSALS.

ABSOLUTELY NO EATING OR DRINKING IN THE THEATER OR DRESSING ROOM AREA! Only bottled water is permitted - performers may eat in the lobby and MUST clean up after themselves!  Please bring appropriate snacks that do not make a mess - ECB is responsible for the cleanliness of the theater.

PLEASE BE ON TIME: Our scheduled time in the theater is precious and we need to be efficient in our rehearsals. Attached you will find directions to the theater.

PROPER SHOES/ TIGHTS/ HAIR & MAKE-UP: No bangs, no glitter, no 'modern day style' make-up (You may find ballet make up tutorials on YouTube).  With make-up less is more – we want to look like ballerinas…not clowns.  NO LIPSTICK SHOULD BE APPLIED TO LITTLE SISTERS/ ANGELS – BEOFRE THEY ARE IN THEIR COSTUMES.

CAMISOLE: Perhaps the most important item to have!  The changing area is unisex and open – all performers must be able to change their clothing quickly and in an open area.  For modesty we have required all performers to purchase a nude camisole.  Performers will NOT be allowed to use the restrooms for changing purposes.  PLEASE ARRIVE TO THE THEATER IN YOUR CORRECT TIGHTS AND CAMISOLE!

Always, Christopher
